Barbara C. Wiebe, BEd, CPC, NVC Facilitator
Hello!
I am passionate about how mindfulness and presence in our communication with ourselves and another brings personal and social transformation. Trained in the internationally acclaimed process of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s NVC, Nonviolent Communication, I have been offering communication workshops and coaching in Alberta and BC since 2006. My work focuses on the inner and the inter-relational aspect of self-realization, how awareness and skill invites radical well-being, how we can participate in the evolution of human and planetary consciousness.
My studies of Nonviolent Communication, NVC, (also called include two ten-day international intensive trainings in Santa Barbara, CA, with the founder of NVC, Marshall Rosenberg. In 2013 I completed the NVC-based certification training course, Coaching for Transformation with www.LeadershipthatWorks.com. I’ve been on faculty with Alberta Yoga College for four years, offering Yoga teacher trainees the module on “Yoga of Communication.” My current passion is to deepen my practice of meditation, mindfulness, yoga and communication practices – investigating how these practices intersect with personal and relational healing and transformation.
I am deeply grateful for the many voices of sanity that play a huge role in my personal and professional life, particularly these mentors and teachers: Marshall Rosenberg, Eckhart Tolle, Krishnamurti, Byron Katie, Adyashanti, Tara Brach, and many more.
Trained by the Pachamama Alliance, I’ve also facilitated the “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream” Symposium, supporting the bold vision to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on Earth. In a time of global upheaval, the Symposium has given me an experiential way to explore a spiritually-motivated, future-oriented evolutionary understanding. For more information: www.pachamama.org
More details: I was born into a refugee family in post-war Germany, growing up in the Saskatchewan prairie, have enjoyed extensive (three-year non-stop) world travels, being an educator in the Calgary Public School system and in the ESL sector (English as a Second Language). I love inquiring into the Heart of relationship, the Heart of Life, True Self – in all its profound mystery.
I am ever so grateful for my relationship with Foster Walker, my beautiful soul mate and life partner of 20 years.
